Richard Hollen and his son, Mark Hollen started Denver Truck Painting, Inc. in June of 1980. The Original facility is located in Denver PA, right off the Pennsylvania Turnpike Exit 286.
While Mark was still in high school (1978 through 1979) he worked 1/2 days and after school for Kloppy's Truck Painting. (This is the current location for Denver Truck Painting's main shop). During this time he learned "hands-on" collision repair and painting. This is where it all started. Mark left the truck collision business and worked for Dutchman's Truck Service in early 1980. In May of 1980 Kloppy's Truck Painting went out of business and Mark discussed with his father (Richard Hollen) at the supper table the fact that Kloppy's Truck Painting went out of business. Richard Hollen, (Mark's Dad) said what do you think about starting our own truck collision shop? Richard was going to be losing his job in the middle of June 1980. This is how Denver Truck Painting got started.
June 1, 1980, Denver Truck Painting opened for business. Mark started full-time first and Richard worked nights and weekends with Mark until his job ended in mid/late June. Denver Truck Painting slowly got busier and busier then Mark and Richard decided to hire additional help; today having over 14 employees.
We have one employee who has been here for 26 years, Kevin Raihl. Combined experience for our 14 employees with Denver Truck Painting is over 154 years.
Todd Sauber, Manager of the Leola location, is married to Richard's daughter/Mark's sister. Todd's been with the Company for 17 years. This is where the "family attention" comes from and remains at DENVER TRUCK PAINTING.
In June of 2007 Richard sold his half of the business to Mark and is now retired. Richard still remains as an important advisor to DENVER TRUCK PAINTING and you still may catch him there from time to time just checking in to see how things are going.
